Collagen induction therapy (CIT) is a procedure in which your body’s own natural healing response is used to create new collagen and elastin in your skin. By utilizing a microneedling device, thousands of micro-channels are created that not only stimulate this collagen & elastin regenerative process, but also can be used to introduce topical vitamins & nutrients deep into the skin. Depending on the topical used, you can enhance your overall results of smoother, firmer, and more even toned skin.

The micro-channels stimulate a 3 phased healing process in your skin.

Collagen Induction Therapy Phase 1
Phase 1: Inflammation
Penetration of the dermal tissue releases growth factors, which signal your body’s immune response to clean and repair your tissue. This results in an increased blood supply that brings nutrients and immune cells to the surface of your skin from which you get the beginnings of fresh, new, regenerative cells.

Collagen Induction Therapy Phase 2
Phase 2:  Proliferation
Cells in your dermis (deep layer of your skin) & epidermis flood to the “wounded” skin and secrete growth factors, elastin and collagen.

Collagen Induction Therapy Phase 3
Phase 3: Remodeling
New tissue has grown in the dermis with a rich blood supply that provides a plentiful supply of oxagen and nutrients to your new skin. Old collagen has been replaced with stronger collagen and connective tissue (thicker dermis, softer wrinkles). The result of this process is tighter, smoother skin.

To stimulate collagen production in the deeper layer of the skin (dermal layer). Small needles from an electronic microneedling device penetrate the skin to break up old collagen and stimulate the production of elastin fibers from the deeper layers of you skin all the way to the surface.
Why do collagen induction therapy?

6 week intervals.
“CIT is the only skin rejuvenation treatment to target & regulate 3 key skin cells (keratinocytes, melanocytes, and fibroblasts) without compromising the integrity of the epidermis. The growth factors (from your own cells are) released through CIT.” The result is a regenerative healing by which your body forms collagen from the base and moves upwards. Healthy (type III) collagen (vs. type I or scar collagen which is produced from a top down healing process)
